Plastic plating-Common plating processes
Huizhou City Boluo Tenglong Technology Co., Ltd. wholeheartedly serves you! Mainly engaged in plastic water electroplating processing, accompanying plastic injection molding processing, mold processing and so on!
1. Introduction to electroplating process
As far as plastic parts are concerned, our common plastics, including thermoplastic and thermosetting plastics, can be plated, but require different activation treatments, and the surface quality in the later period is also quite different. We generally only electroplated plastic parts made of ABS material. Sometimes, different plastic materials have different requirements for electroplating activation to carry out two-color injection molding first, and then electroplating treatment is carried out. In this way, since one plastic material can be activated and the other cannot be activated, local plastic has a plating effect. To meet some of the design requirements of designers, we will introduce the electroplating process mainly on the general process of ABS material electroplating.
After such a process, the plastic plating layer is generally composed of the following layers:
The common plating layers after electroplating are mainly three metal deposits: copper, nickel, and chromium. Under ideal conditions, the common thickness of each layer is as shown in the figure, and the overall thickness is about 0.02 mm. However, in our actual production, due to the reasons of the substrate and the surface quality, the thickness will usually be much larger than this value, but large electroplating factories like and exquisite can better meet such requirements.
2. Electroplating layer identification method
The following methods can be referred to in the identification of technical requirements for coating:
1. The following order is used for identification of metal coating:
For example: PL/Ep·Cu10bNi15bCr0.3
Plastic, plated with bright copper of more than 10μm, bright nickel of more than 15μm, and ordinary chromium of more than 0.3μm. The following table is a way to express some of the effects in the above identification method.
1)matrix material
2)plating method
3)Coating name
The name of the plating layer is expressed by the chemical element symbol of the plating layer.
4)plating thickness
The unit of plating thickness is μm, which generally identifies the lower limit of plating thickness. If necessary, the range of plating thickness can be marked.
5)plating characteristics
6)post-processing
