Electroplating troubleshooting skills (1): find out the location of the fault

1. Jumping method:

The skip method refers to the electroplating process that we suspect in skipping the electroplating process. For example, if we suspect that light nickel is abnormal, then we will skip the process of light nickel. details as follows:


The normal electroplating process: plastic pretreatment-scorched copper-acid copper-semi-gloss nickel-light nickel-nickel seal-light chromium.


Our process of skipping method becomes: plastic pretreatment-pyro copper-acid copper-semi-gloss nickel-nickel seal-light chromium.


Then check whether it is abnormal, so as to determine the location of the fault.


In this way, it can be adapted to check the fault location of the plastic post-processing (electroplating), and the pre-processing is not suitable.


2. Position adjustment method:


Position adjustment method refers to a simple and practical method to change the direction of the hanger or adjust the position of the product hanger, or change the direction of the product to verify the location of the fault. E.g:


1. The original hook is inside the cast, now turn it over (that is, the direction of the hook is toward the outside).


2. Replace the original first row and third row.


Then check whether it is abnormal, so as to determine the location of the fault.


Through this method, the universal magic weapon for false burning, abnormal anode, abnormal filter, and abnormal electrical conductivity can be tested.


3. Contrast method:


The contrast method is a simple way to compare a potion that is not malfunctioning and a potion that may be malfunctioning. The contrast method requires certain conditions, and is especially suitable for large and medium-sized electroplating plants with gantry lines, several electroplating lines, or electroplating industrial parks.


1. Newly equipped with normal plating solution: especially suitable for abnormal inspection of plastic pretreatment;

2. Compare with other plating solutions that are normally produced. For example, the A line of a large electroplating factory is abnormal, and the B line is normal. After plating the A line from the normal process to the process that we suspected to be faulty, take the B line to continue the electroplating process.

Then check whether it is abnormal, so as to determine the location of the fault.

If you can master the above three methods, it will be easy to find the location of the plating failure.
