Plastic electroplating process: plastic electroplating hanging methods and skills
First, the role of plastic electroplating hanging:
Fix the plastic parts on the conductive tool (hanger), so that it can be connected to the power supply to form a closed-loop so that the electroplating can be carried out smoothly. Generally speaking, it is to hang the product on the conductive hook of the hanger and obtain the desired electroplating effect through electroplating.
2. The way of hanging on the plastic electroplating and the conductive nozzle is particularly critical to obtain the required conductive effect:
1. First of all, because the current is transmitted through the conductive point of the hanger and the chemical nickel layer, in order to avoid breakdown or burning, the hanger should be cleaned after each electroplating. In addition to the cleaning of the hanger, the conductive points are the key. Therefore, the number of conductive points or hanging points of plastic electroplating is about 30% more than that of metal electroplating.
2. Distribution skills of hanger points and conductive points:
A. The hanger point must not be placed on the water point or blind hole point, so as to avoid the residue of the potion and cause the hanger point to have a thin coating or no plating;
B. Do not use flattened hanger points as much as possible, so as to avoid poor contact between the potion and the plastic parts and the inability to have a chemical reaction, that is, causing the hanger point to have a thin coating or no plating;
C. The uniformity of conduction must be considered at the hanger point, so as to ensure the uniformity of the coating and obtain a good electroplating effect;
D. The hanger point must be set in the low current to a medium current area of the product;
E. Do not place the hanger point on the appearance surface of the product or near the appearance surface to avoid breakdown or discoloration during the electroplating process.
Third, the skills of plastic electroplating hanging:
1. It is necessary to ensure the moderate elasticity of the hook to avoid poor electroplating caused by product deformation due to excessive elasticity or poor electrical conductivity of the product caused by too small elasticity;
2. Products with sharp corners must be placed in the middle area of the hanger or use a special hanger for auxiliary cathodes;
3. For products with only one sharp angle at one end, the position of the sharp angle must correspond to the middle area of the hanger to prevent undesirable phenomena such as burrs or burning at the tip of the product;
4. Be sure to ensure that the hanger hooks are clean. For hangers with hanger glue or unclean coating, they will lead to poor electroplating (missing plating, breakdown, etc.).
5. For the plated hangers, be sure to select them for stripping treatment separately. Otherwise, the plating solution will be polluted.
