Introduction of plastic plating-Mould Surface strengthening treatment.

There are many methods of surface strengthening treatment, including Carburizing, nitriding, sulphurizing, boronizing, nitrocarburizing, metallizing and so on. The use of different surface strengthening treatment processes can increase the service life of the die by several times or even dozens of times. in recent years, some surface strengthening processes have emerged. This paper focuses on four aspects for reference.
1. Ion nitriding can be used to improve the corrosion resistance, wear resistance, thermal fatigue resistance and anti-adhesion performance of the die. The outstanding advantage of ion nitriding is that the nitriding time is significantly shortened, the structure of the nitrided layer can be controlled by adjusting different gas components, the surface brittleness of the nitrided layer is reduced, the deformation is small, the hardness distribution curve of the nitrided layer is stable, and it is not easy to produce spalling and thermal fatigue. The permeable matrix material is wider than gas nitriding, non-toxic, non-explosive and safe in production, but for complex molds, it is difficult to obtain uniform heating and uniform carburized layer, and the carburized layer is shallow and the transition layer is steeper. Temperature measurement and temperature uniformity remain to be solved. The suitable temperature of ion nitriding is 450 ~ 520 ℃. After treatment for 6 ~ 9h, the depth of nitrided layer is about 0.2~0.3mm. If the temperature is too low, the carburized layer is too thin; if the temperature is too high, the loose layer is easy to appear on the surface layer, which reduces the anti-adhesion ability. The suitable thickness of ion nitriding layer is 0.2~0.3mm. The worn ion nitriding die can be put into use after repair and re-ion nitriding, thus the total service life of the die can be greatly improved.
two.. The surface hardness of the treated die steel is as high as 900~1000HV, good wear resistance, strong corrosion resistance and high high temperature hardness. It can be used in die casting die, cold heading die, cold extrusion die, hot extrusion die, high speed forging die and plastic die. However, the deformation often occurs after gas nitrocarburizing, and the expansion accounts for about 25% of the thickness of the compound, so it is not suitable for precision moulds. The residue must be annealed and eliminated before treatment.
For example: Cr12MoV steel leaf spring hole punching concave die, after gas nitrocarburizing and salt bath vanadizing treatment, the die life can be increased by 3 times. For example, the cold upsetting screw punch of 60Si2 steel can be treated by pre-nitriding, short-time carbonitriding, direct quenching oil, low temperature quenching and higher temperature tempering, which can improve the core toughness and increase the service life of the cold heading punch by more than 2 times. The carbonitriding process is shown in figure 1.
3. The ternary carbon-nitrogen-boronizing can be carried out in the nitriding furnace. The boronizing agent is organic boronizing agent and ammonia, the ratio is 1:7, the temperature is 600C, the time is 4h, the thickness of the compound layer is 3 ~ 4 μ m, the depth of the diffusion layer is 0.23mm, and the surface hardness is HV011050. The service life of the die is significantly improved after co-infiltration treatment.
