In the simple salt electrolyte of nickel, the extremely fine crystalline layer can be obtained, and it has excellent polishing performance. The polished nickel plating has a mirror-like luster while retaining its luster in the atmosphere for a long time. In addition, nickel plating also has high hardness and wear resistance. According to the nature of nickel plating, it is mainly used as the base layer, intermediate layer, and surface layers of protective-decorative plating, such as nickel-chromium plating, nickel-copper-nickel-chromium plating, copper-nickel-chromium plating, and copper-nickel-chromium plating. -chromium plating and copper-nickel plating, etc.

Due to the high porosity of nickel plating, only when the thickness of the plating is above 25μm is non-porous, so generally do not use nickel plating as a protective plating.
