Definition of electroplating.
Electroplating is the process of using electrolysis to deposit metal or alloy on the surface of the workpiece to form a uniform, compact and good bonding metal layer, which is called electroplating. A simple understanding is the change or combination of physics and chemistry.
The application of electroplating process is generally used for the following purposes:
a. Anti-corrosion.
b. Protective decoration.
c. Wear resistance.
d. Electrical properties: a coating that provides conductive or insulating properties according to the working requirements of the parts.
Special requirements for the design of e-plating parts.
Effect of coating thickness on fit size of Electroplated parts.
The thickness of electroplated parts will be controlled around 0.02mm according to ideal conditions, but in actual production, there may be at most the thickness of 0.08mm, so in the position with sliding fit, the clearance of one side should be controlled above 0.3mm in order to achieve satisfactory results. This is the attention we need to pay attention to the coordination of electroplated parts.
