Cold and thermal shock test, also known as temperature shock test or high and low temperature impact test, is to alternately expose the test sample to low temperature and high temperature air (or suitable inert gas) to withstand the influence of alternating temperature changes. Used to determine the ability of components, equipment, and other products to withstand changes in ambient temperature. The test conditions and requirements are the same as those of the previous temperature test. It is used to assess the adaptability of the product to the temperature change of the surrounding environment, and it is an indispensable test in the appraisal test of equipment design and the routine test in the batch production stage. in some cases, it can also be used in environmental stress screening test. It can be said that the frequency of application of cold and thermal shock test chamber in verifying and improving the environmental adaptability of equipment is second only to vibration and high and low temperature tests. Similar to the equipment and conditions for high and low temperature testing, the product should be placed at room temperature to return to normal after being subjected to high or low temperature. The national certification body GJB150.5 sets a lower limit of 1h, that is, if the temperature stability time is less than 1h, it must be 1h. the purpose of the cold and hot shock test is to find the design and process defects of the product in the engineering development stage, to provide the basis for the product stereotyping or design appraisal and the acceptance decision in the batch production stage, and to eliminate the early faults of the product in the application of environmental stress screening.
It is mainly used for the testing of electronic and electrical components, automation parts, communication components, auto parts, metals, chemical materials, plastics and other industries, testing the repeated tensile force of its materials to high and low temperatures and the chemical changes or physical damage of products produced by thermal expansion and cold shrinkage, can confirm the quality of products, from precision IC to heavy machinery components, all need its identification.
