Raw material for plastic water electroplating-ANODE

Raw material for plastic water electroplating: anode

Electroplating anode is one of the most important materials for electroplating raw materials. It is made by decomposing the anode to turn the anode into metal ions, which adhere to the surface of the plastic product to be electroplated.

Electroplating is an electrolytic process. The metal sheet provided with the coating is the anode. The electrolyte is usually a metal-plated ion solution, and the object to be plated is the cathode. After a voltage is an input between the anode and the cathode, the metal ions in the electrolyte are attracted to swim to the cathode. After reduction, it will be plated on it to complete the electroplating process. At the same time, the anode metal is re-dissolved to provide more metal ions in the electrolyte, which are recycled in turn. Until the anode is exhausted, then replace it again.

One of the main functions of the anode is to conduct electricity, which is inseparable from the cathode process. Without the electric field formed by the anode and the cathode, the electroplating process that decomposes the anode ions and adheres to the cathode product is impossible. Therefore, conductivity is the primary and necessary function of the anode, which is a function that any anode must-have. Another function of the anode is to provide the ions of the metal to be plated, but this is not a necessary function, that is to say, the anode may not provide the metal ions required by the cathode process, such as an insoluble anode.

The insoluble anode for electroplating is a titanium substrate (mesh, plate, ribbon, tube, etc.) coated with a precious metal oxide coating with high electrochemical catalytic performance, and the coating contains a highly stable valve metal oxide.
