Regarding the electroplating process of automobile decorative parts
Electroplating is a process that uses electrolysis to process the surface of parts. During electroplating, the part is the negative electrode, and the metal ions in the plating solution are deposited on the surface of the part under the action of direct current to form a uniform and dense metal layer. The necessary condition for electroplating is an electrolytic device consisting of an external DC power supply, plating solution, plated parts, and anode. The purpose of electroplating is to change the appearance and physical and chemical properties of the surface of parts to meet various performance requirements such as decoration, corrosion resistance, and wear resistance. The electroplating process flow is shown in the figure.
The electroplating process mainly has the following characteristics:
① Give plastic parts a metallic surface effect.
② Improve the heat resistance and corrosion resistance of the product.
③ The electroplating solution currently used contains cyanide, which is highly toxic and harmful to processing workers.
④ The wastewater and gas generated by electroplating seriously pollute the environment.
The general design requirements for the electroplating process are as follows:
① The surface roughness of the parts is required to be Ra≤0.1mm.
② The larger plane should be convex in the middle. Generally, the convex height is 0.10~0.15mm. All edges need to be rounded. The width of the V-shaped groove should be 3 times the depth. The depth of the blind hole is the diameter.
③ Parts should have sufficient strength, and the wall thickness design is generally about 3mm. The thinnest should not be less than 1.5mm, and the thickest should not be greater than 3.8mm.
④ There should be a mounting position for electroplating, and the mounting position should be designed in a location that does not affect the appearance.
